Business Development
As business development manager and self titled ‘futurist’ I look for opportunites to develop new products, build relationships with clients and industry groups while looking for coming trends in the social, political and technological space.

Technology and the Future
With a background in Psychology and Organisational studies, I have a keen interest in the future of work and how technologies will shape both our work and personal lives. With new technologies such as cryptocurrencies, blockchain, smart contracts, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented realities now arriving in the business space, its more important then  ever to position yourself to take advantage of this exciting and transformational time.

Building my first computer in the 1990s was an exciting step into the computer world and I have continued following the emerging trends, new developments and cutting edge innovation ever since.

The rate of technological change is increasing at an ever faster rate and as we move towards digital blockchain, A.I and decentralised systems, those who aren’t aware or don’t understand the impacts of these technologies are at a real danger of being left behind.

IOT and Industry
I have spent the last 7 years helping create new products and services around the Internet of Things, combining sensors with automated data collection presented in useful ways, evaluating market opportunities and facilitating the uptake on major projects in NZ.

Being part of organisations such as NZTech, IoT and technology, local government (Ipwea), contracting CCNZ, engineering NZGS, testing (Cetanz) and conservation (PF2050) really help to see  the connections and insights into whats coming next both internationally and in New Zealand.

Psychology, Hypnosis and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)
With a background in psychology, hypnosis and Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), I have also worked as a life coach for both kids, adults and business professionals helping set compelling and effective goals that both complement and allow for a fulfilling and motivating work/life balance.

Health and Wellbeing
Health and wellbeing are key drivers for me, and as part of the wellbeing team have done presentations on effective health practices for building immune strength including cold water immersion, intermittent fasting and mindfulness practice for reducing stress and improving health outcomes, all backed by science and peer reviewed data.

MBTI and Personality Testing
A strong understanding and background in MBTI and personality theory, helps with a comprehensive understanding of individuals, helping customise and tailor goals to suit the individuals strengths while highlighting areas of weakness that can be mitigated and improved on resulting in more effective strategies for success.

Mentoring and Personality
As a youth mentor for Big Buddy program, Youthtown and raising my own family, I see so many kids struggling with anxiety, mental and emotional health, suicide and depression. Understanding kids personality type can really help with learning outcomes, social needs and understanding from parents who may be a very different type.

Introversion and extroversion are two aspects of personality types that can really help understand yourself and others in a simple and meaningful way, both for home and work relationships.

Virtual Reality / Augmented Reality and the Blockchain
Understanding new technologies like augmented reality and virtual reality will be an important aspect of business, marketing and the client experience. Winning tenders, writing contracts and financial transactions will all occur on blockchain in the digital world.

I have a natural interest in these areas and happy to discuss any of these interesting topics.

Generational Theory and the Workplace
Understanding the social zeitgeist is imperative to attracting and retaining talent in this time of ‘the great resignation’ where talent is hard to find.  Studying generational theory sheds light on the priorities of each generation, boomers, gen X and millennials, identifies where they work happily together and where conflict can arise.

Psychology and Relationships
While studying psychology I took an interest in attachment theory and the effect it has on our relationships in adult life. Being in lockdown has really tested a lot of relationships and those wanting to    improve this area of their life could benefit from knowing both there own personality type, love languages and attachment styles, as well as their partners. Facilitating conversation, identifying needs and improving communication is the cornerstone of any good relationship.

Photography
I have over 10 years experience in photography including landscapes, pets, sports, portraits real estate and corporate headshots.
